BBB or Better Business Bureau provides a place for consumers to “sound off.” BBB is not a government agency, they are a for profit corporation. They earn income by charging businesses membership fees as well as fees to remove complaints from your company record.

Nevertheless, like any web site, you can find some good stuff on the BBB site and you can also find some contradictory stuff. The bottom line is always do your research and make a human connection with real people who you are taking advice from.
